The First Nations Statistical Institute (FNSI) can help your community or organization to identify, compile, and analyze relevant data.

Expertise and advice are available to First Nations communities and organizations conducting or planning statistical analysis and research. Through FNSI, your community can access experts in statistical analysis, including economists, statisticians, and survey methodologists. The statistical expertise of FNSI’s analysts is coupled with experience working with First Nations communities and organizations.

Training courses and workshops are also available. For example, for a community seeking to better integrate statistics into governance activities, FNSI can offer a course on converting the community’s own administrative data into useful statistical information.

FNSI also provides expertise and advice to other levels of governments. One of the purposes of the FNSI is to promote the quality, coherence and compatibility of First Nations statistics and their production. To achieve this, FNSI works with and provides advice to First Nations, federal and provincial departments and agencies.
